Hello guys, welcome to the blog section of our website i.e. beingsteno.com where you get all information related to stenography/shorthand in Hindi also.

Many students of stenography have a question in their mind and i.e. what should he read for learnig stenography easily. Here you will get the proper guidance about this. You can learn stenography with these books without any teacher.

Today we will discuss about study material for being a stenographer or learning shorthand. When we think about the stenography it’s actually shorthand. So you can get books for learning shorthand for fundamental and advance of both scripts - Hindi and English from any local book store or book seller. For learning Hindi script shorthand, I recommend you Hindi sanket lipi (हिंदी संकेत लिपि) by Gayaprasad Aggrawal. For English Shorthand script you should read the book named "Key to Pitman shorthand". You can buy it online also (click here to buy)

It is not so simple to become a stenographer in any government department. We have to clear the exams in which we have two or three level mostly two level. First we have to clear a written examination in which we will have to answer many questions from different subjects like: -Reasoning, English, General Science and in some commission’s written exam we can get the question from Hindi subject and mathematics up to 8th standard. The most important post we can get with the help of stenography is parlimentary reportor where you will be Group A officer with grade pay of Rs. 5400/- in India. We require a 160 wpm speed in Hindi/English stenography. (get here the book for making this kind of speed).

So, for clearing the written examination we must have study for that also. After clearing the written examination, we go to the second level that is skill test in which we have to write a dictation in shorthand than transcribe it on the computer. For written examination I prefer to take sample question paper first so that we can get an idea of question coming the paper and than refer to syllabus placed in the notification of the recruitment than according to requirements we can get the study material from market. In fact, I will say that the first study material we should read is the syllabus of every examination.
